Yesterday morning we drove up to the Red River Peach Orchard in Gainesville, TX to pick these delicious babies. Can’t you just smell them through the screen?
As it turns out, Brad is quite the peach tree climber.
Kate thought it was so much fun to pick her own peaches.
She snacked on a peach or two while picking (hey, a working girl gets hungry).
Harper was laid back and did really well with the heat (it was 103 degrees by 9:30am).
And Sara Paige …. well, she was none too thrilled.
What started off as a little grumpiness,
turned into whining.
Which turned into the infamous two-year-old “screaming and refusing to walk” fit.
After we filled up two huge buckets, the girls cooled off with some ice cream and all was better with the world.
It was really fun and I think we’ll go back next year. I do wish peaches grew in November – it would make for much cooler picking

Brad grew up with 20 peach trees in Wylie…don’t remember him voluntarily picking any, though. About the 10th year at that place, they all died so we pulled them up….he even sold some at the end of the driveway a time or two!
