I know I’ve said it before, but the Dallas Modern Quilt Guild truly is such a fantastic group of women. I am always so bummed when I can’t make a monthly meeting. We had an “ugly” fat quarter swap last night and have to make a cute quilt block using at least 40% of the ugly fabric to bring back next month. I’ll show you mine once I figure out what in the world to do with it.

As if it wasn’t fun enough to see everyone and learn a new sew-doodling technique (thanks, Bernina Dallas!), I won a door prize!! Yippee :) I’ve had The Practical Guide to Patchwork on my wish list for a while. I love it and can’t wait to make a quilt soon.

And *then* the best surprise of all… the Dallas Modern Quilt Guild officers made THE most beautiful and perfect baby quilt for Harper. I started to cry because I am a sap and it meant so much. Look how pretty this quilt is!

What a pretty quilt! My husband was also following the mavs game. We do not have professional sports in our state back home so that is one plus to moving to Texas! I do have it on my list to attend one of the DMQG meetings so hopefully I will be able to see the outcome of the ugly quilt swap.

Yay for winning! The quilt for sweet Harper is just gorgeous! I’m always amazed at the talent quilters have…just beautiful and a wonderful keepsake. I’m a sap too most definitely…..homemade gifts like that are the best. I think your little Harper looks SO much like SP when she was that little! :O)
