We’ve been playing in the backyard a lot lately. We got the girls a play set last week and I’m *totally* thrilled about it! The girls have been playing on it non-stop (well, whenever it hasn’t been raining. Dallas has had a bunch of storms lately).
Yesterday the girls and I were outside enjoying the day. Harper slept peacefully
while Kate and Sara Paige invented a new game called “Roly Polie Family Farm.” It was quite entertaining to watch. Kate would trap a Roly Polie like this
and then yell to Sara Paige “I got one! I got one! Come pick it up!” (someone doesn’t care to touch bugs).
Sara Paige would run over with a big grin and grab it (someone else doesn’t mind touching bugs).
They put the Roly Polies on a play kitchen platter and collected at least 40 after searching the yard high and low. They came up with a story line about how the Roly Polies were a family. There was a Mama, a Daddy, a baby, some sisters, some brothers, and some “Sassies.” The Sassies kept climbing out of the platter. (As a casual observer, I concurred that they were indeed being sassy.)
The girls tested habitats in the backyard and ultimately decided that the Roly Polies would like to live next to the tree. “They’ll have shade and food and stuff there,” Kate told me.
It was fun to watch them play together. I love seeing them play “make believe.” I did hear Kate tell one of the Roly Polies “You’re driving me crazy! I need some space.” Then Sissy (Sara Paige) pipes in, “Yah, I need face (space).” Hmm… I have heard those words before :/ Whoopsie.

I enjoy your posts so much. I don’t know where you get your energy but it’s great! Little Harper is growing like a weed and is so beautiful like her sisters.
Love this post! So funny! Made us both laugh! Love y’all!
