Update… we now have tile in the kitchen and nook (where there was previously wood). I’m excited about it because I think it makes more sense for our particular household. Spills are easier to clean and hopefully there won’t ever be another leak… but if there is, the tile shouldn’t need to be replaced. I chose this particular 12″ tile because it looks like slate. I love the color variation and I’m really happy about how it looks next to the cabinets.
Last Friday, the contractors patched all the holes in the cement so they can lay wood this week. Hopefully the wood will be laid by Friday. Then the baseboards need to be replaced and a few other things. Finally, my house needs a *really* good cleaning (preferably before Harper gets here)!
My house is such a disaster right now! We particularly love the fridge in the hallway look.
This past weekend was so much fun. My girlfriends threw me a baby shower at the nail salon! Talk about heaven 
A pedicure and precious baby things. I’m so thankful to have such sweet friends.
I’ve been spending my hours chasing after these cuties:
Studying chemistry (yikes!), biology, and working. I haven’t had time to craft but squeezed in a Dallas Modern Quilt Guild meeting last week which was so much fun. There were lots of demos and tips – not to mention free dinner!
Speaking of eating, we have been eating out SO much lately because of the current house situation. I’m trying not to worry about it – Harper will be here in 3 weeks and then I’ll have the rest of my life to worry about calories, right? Ha!

So sad I had to miss out on your shower! It looks like you girls had so much fun! Will need to get with you soon to get your baby shower gift to you before your sweet baby girl shows up. Love your tile floors… beautiful! Hope you are getting plenty of rest… talk to you soon!
I LOVE the tile color and cabinets together, just looks so FAB girl, GREAT choice!!! The cake at your shower is SO adorable, how fun and it looks like you all had a great time…thank goodness for friends is what I say! Hang in there and hope all continues to go smoothly with the last bit of the renovations. Soon little Harper girl will be here, I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. It’s looking great! We laid slate tile in our kitchen and dining room in our last house and I ADORED it! We’ll definitely be going back to it when we do our “real” kitchen renovation in our new house.
