Fabric Scissors – a Review Soon

Do you have a good pair of fabric scissors? I had a decent pair but someone used them to cut cardboard and they haven’t functioned well since.

Needless to say, I was excited when CSN asked me to review some fabric scissors. The CSN site is really cool. They have a bunch of specialty areas I like. Their kids bedding is really cute and reasonably priced.

Anyway, I am going to hide my new scissors in a super secret place so they are not mistaken for regular scissors. After I give them a good trial run, I’ll let you know what I think.

PSA, PSA, PSA… This post has been edited to exclude a certain someone’s name who was “wrongfully accused” of misusing my favorite fabric scissors. Said person reminded me that I have no proof he was at fault. Said person told me “Hey, it could have been Kate for all you know.” Yes, I suppose that would be feasible. So I would like to issue a public apology for blaming a handsome person without solid evidence :) Better, honey?

The only thing that’s special about my fabric scissors is that they hide in a drawer on my sewing table and don’t touch paper! I think they’re just basic Fiskars, probably from an office supply store rather than a fabric store. I rarely use them, though. I’m addicted to my rotary cutter!

I can’t imagine spending $26 on scissors… Lucky you getting them to review. You may try writing “FABRIC” on them with permanent marker to keep “someone” away :)

  2. Katy Link says:

My Mom always threatened us with our lives if we used her fabric scissors for anything other than fabric. Finally she tied a red string around one of the finger holes of her fabric scissors and we always knew to never use the scissors with the red string!

  3. Pam St. John says:

I was going to tell you about my red ribbon I tie around the handle. Then I read it in the comment above this. Then I noticed that my daughter, Katy, posted that comment! See, I taught her well – don’t touch the scissors with the ribbon.

  4. Jenny says:

Pam, that cracks me up! And now I’m going to put red ribbon on my handles…

  5. Jenny says:

Katy – great tip. I need to be scarier and tie some red ribbon!

  6. Jenny says:

Meghan, I loooove my rotary cutter too. I know, $26 is steep so I feel very lucky to get a pair for free to review.

  7. Melanie says:

    LOVE my Ginghers!!!

  8. Brad Garland says:

Said person thinks this apology is sufficient but not near as authentically apologetic as I had hoped.

  9. Dana O'Brien says:

    Ya’ll crack me up. :)
