I lurrrrve Anthropologie. Which is funny, considering I own not one item from the store. But I pretty much like everything in there, a whole lotta bunch.
I saw this sweater the other week when I walked through the store and knew it must be mine:
I flipped the price tag over and quickly resigned myself to the fact that no, it would not be mine afterall! $98. That’s more than our monthly water bill. Couldn’t do it.
So I made my own.
I took this plain old black JC Penney cardigan:

(Excuse these pictures, it’s hard to photograph yourself! And pardon the random shoe in the picture above.)
Then I pinned some grosgrain ribbon to it:

And sewed it on. Voila!

I love it. And it was free

I love anthro too- but own nothing b/c its too expensive. Love the sweater!
too cute!!

)

Love it! You did an awesome job recreating that look
Wow, impressive! I cracked up about the shoe because I hadn’t even noticed it until you said something…so funny! :O)
I am a friend of Roz & Henry’s & I just happened upon you blog through Roz on FB. You remind me so much of me! I love all things handmade & I really love a bargain. I enjoy seeing all your creative touches. Thanks for sharing.
You know I love the Anthropologie catalog and store too, but can’t find anything in there – sort of like J. Jill – it’s almost, but there’s something that just makes it miss…but I love your version of the sweater, AND it’s the color you want, the way you want it to look not too long not too short – perfect.
Thanks, guys!
Okay, this is adorable. I found your blog from Rue de Vamp’s post on our Anthro DIY’s. Super cute blog you have here!
