Oh, the Weather Outside is Frightful…ish

I woke up this morning at 7:40 (thank you, girls for sleeping in) to Kate saying “Mommy, hop out of bed, it’s time to wake up” over the monitor. At 3 and 1/2, she doesn’t realize she can get out of bed herself and I am not going to be the one to tell her

As I walked toward the steps to go upstairs, I happened to peek out the window and saw a lovely surprise. Snow! I don’t know what it is, but snow in Dallas seems magical. Maybe because it’s normally so hot here. I raced up to get Kate and she was so happy to see snowflakes and white on the ground. She said “Is it Christmas yet?” and “Why don’t those snowflakes look right?” Ha. I think she was looking for big and puffy snowflakes with intricate designs. Our snowflakes this morning were wet and droopy. No matter. It was still a sweet morning.

Do you like my ghetto-fabulous Christmas wreath? I hot glued a tons of ornaments on it and called it a day. I totally love tacky Christmas decor. Seriously. The more colored lights on the tree and plastic figurines in the the yard, the better. We don’t have any figurines or lights on the house yet but as soon as I can convince Brad of the joy that will result, we will. I’m not holding my breath though!

Kate’s at preschool and instead of cleaning,working, or being productive I am going to snuggle with Sara Paige and watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. It’s a good day.
