Kate has wanted to get her ears pierced for a while. When I told her that it would feel like a shot, that dissuaded her. So I was surprised the other day when she decided that she was ready. I reminded her that it would hurt and she said “I know, but just at first.”
This afternoon we were heading to the mall for a playdate and I told her we could get her ears pierced before if she wanted to. Kate was thrilled. We walked into Claire’s and she chose precious rainbow daisy flower earrings. Kate informed me that the rainbow earrings were the best choice because they would match every outfit. (My child is much more stylish than me).
Kate sat still and remained calm while the nice lady cleaned and marked her ears. Then another sales associate came to help so they would be able to pierce both ears at once. Kate did cry for a few minutes when they pierced her ears. But now she is happy to be “sparkly!”

Okay, that just made my Monday morning, I cracked up! I love Kate’s ears pierced….so sweet! Might have to do that to my little gal someday. :O)
