As I’m writing, Brad and I are watching last week’s episode of The Office and cracking up. I love this show. A lot. I wonder how many takes they have to do in order to get a scene without laughing? I’m pretty sure it would take me 2,504.
Okay, must peel self away from television… But I really love TV. TV and Diet Coke. Oh, and salmon sashimi too.
Alright, TV’s off so I can focus.
Earlier this week, two girlfriends and I took our 8 kids (all 3 years and under) to the Dallas Children’s Museum. If you are in the area, it’s totally worth visiting. The kids loooooved it. Both of my girlfriends have twins and an older kid, so that’s how we had 8 munchkins. Can you believe everyone held it together for 4 hours? I was so impressed.
We could have been an ad for the Graco DuoGlider Stroller:

Here are the babes:

… and the big kids:

Yesterday, we went to a Halloween costume party. Kate was a bumble bee and Sara Paige was a witch:

I’ve been working on lots of random things lately. I saw this idea to display art work on my friend Mariah’s blog. Hop on over there for a tutorial.
I turned this $2 cabinet door:

Into this:

I just love it. This was my first Cricut project. Oh man, that baby is so much fun. I need a name for her. Any suggestions? My sewing machine’s name is Sassy.
I decided to hang Kate’s art gallery in the foyer. Um, actually I’m not sure if foyer is the right word. It’s the hallway going from the front door to the kitchen. Is that a foyer? Hmm. Well, you get the idea. Kate’s excited to have a designated and prominent place to display her masterpieces. Girlfriend LOVES to draw, paint, and decorate. She normally uses Scotch Tape to plaster pictures all over the wall.
As if this post isn’t random enough…
I finished the quilt top for my first pattern and am sending the directions out to pattern testers for critique. It should be available to purchase by Christmas! This pattern is going to be fantastic for all sewing levels. Please excuse the terrible lighting and the fact that she isn’t quilted yet. The colors are so much softer that the picture shows but I wanted to snap a quick pic for you guys

Other than that, we’ve been doing the same ‘ol same ‘ol. We stopped by Lowes this afternoon and I thought the girls looked so cute “driving” the cart together:

I hope you all have a great week!

Girl…we love us some Office up here in our neck of the woods too…LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that show and Dwight and Jim make me laugh all the time. Just keeps getting funnier and funnier. I was thinking the same thing when I saw all the same strollers parked there…too funny. That quilt is SOOO pretty…the colors are so gorgeous! I cracked up at Sara Paige’s face in the shopping cart…she is so stinkin cute, I just wanna squeeze her! Kate’s hair is really getting long…such a pretty little gal you have on your hands. We thought of ya’ll as I did lots of cooking yesterday with my awesome apron and with the help of my daughter. She was so cute, she said, “Mommy, if I pull the top part down on mine, then mine will look just like yours!” Great costumes, we’re looking so forward to Saturday…yay! How’s that for random comments?! Hah! Have a good one sweet family! :O)
Hi! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Cricut Project!! Please, please, please share how this was done. My little girl is constantly taping her art to everything and anything. Great job on the quilt!
Wow!! Your quilt looks so pretty!! Way to go:) And I love the art gallery too!!
The art display turned out great! I love the quilt, can’t wait to see it all done.
Hey Mindy, check out that link to Mariah’s tutorial in my post. All I did differently was paint the base green, then paint the raised part pink. I let that dry and rubbed some brown acrylic paint on with a paper towel and then wiped off quickly to give an aged look. I bet your little girl would love one and it’s definitely helping organization around here – ha!
I just love Sara Paige’s smile! The art display is an awesome idea! I made my girls Halloween shirts from your tutorial and they turned out great! Would love to send you a picture but I don’t have a blog.
Cute costumes – I love your quilt! Still offering to test it if you need any more testers!
Jeni, I’d love to see your pictures
