Remember how I re-matted these frames? Well, I decided I would rather have the same mats for each print. Here's the new toile background ($0.59 a sheet scrapbook paper):
While I was at it, I moved this collage frame from the stairs
And then I decided that the big barn star in the playroom wasn't girly enough, so I painted it pink:
I updated picture frames throughout the house. What a difference!
Here are some of my favorites:
A photo of Sara Paige that says "Angels danced the day you were born."
A moment captured right after Sara Paige was born. I think Brad took it. What a multi-tasker, huh?
Kate (about 1 year old) and my Papap.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, here's what I replaced the collage frame with on the steps (a Canton find!):
Thanks for looking
PS – I keep tweeting Oprah but no response yet. Maybe she's busy or something. Maybe I'll try Martha.

so cute! I love the rematting with scrapbook paper…way cute:) I can’t wait to see all this in person on “McKinney Martha’s” night:)
Love it! I may just have to “jennify” the matting on my picture frames now!
I just found your site. As luck would have it, I’m in the midst of redoing lots of photos in my house.
I love the idea of rematting with scrapbook paper! Was the paper in back, with the photos on top?
I was just looking at all my orangey oak picture frames and not liking them … how did you paint them? Did you prime them first? What kind of paint did you use?
Sara Paige is beautiful – I LOVE that picture of her!
Tracy – glad you found the link for how to cover mats, it makes a huge difference!!
And for the frames… I did prime them (with a cheapy spray paint primer) and then spray painted them with quick dry black spray paint. After they were dry, I flipped them over to spray the back side. You could also use regular house paint. I’ve tried acrylics before but wasn’t crazy about how it looked! Let me know if you have any other questions
It all looks great! Really love your pink barn star. Amazing what a little paint can do.
Thanks for joining in the party! The prints look great! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my artwork. Glad you linked up.
Your family is precious and your prints look fantastic–great idea to back with scrapbook paper–why didn’t I think of that!
It looks wonderful!
Those look fabulous, love the shelf! Is the collage in the playroom from Red Envelope? I LOVE LOVE that!
Nice use of scrapbook paper.
